Animal Adoption Information

I want to share with you a few website links that will help educate you and your family not only on how to adopt a pet, but also, how to help make a difference in the lives of the many homeless, cats, dogs, and other animals in the world.

These links are provided to get you started learning more about pet adoption and animal rescue. Even as a “wise old cat”, I am continually learning new ways in which I can help my furry friends out there. Remember, you are never to old to learn new ways or do new things that allows you to further help others in need.

As the Nice Lady will tell you, a lot of responsibility is taken on when you decide to bring any animal into your family. Having a pet is more then just giving them a place to live. You need to provide for them in many ways….health care, food, fun, and lots, and lots of love.

So please take a look at these sites, for they play a major role in creating awareness and helping cats, dogs, and other animals to live a better life!

They’re all about getting homeless pets into homes. They use the power of TV, the Internet and a toll-free phone number to connect adopters with shelter pets and help pets go from alone to adopted.

They’re working to help the good people at shelters and rescue groups find homes for homeless pets. I am helping them with their mission by providing a percentage of my book sale proceeds to provide additional funding for their good work.

Petfinder is an on-line, searchable database of animals that need homes. It is also a directory of over 12,500 animal shelters and adoption organizations across the USA, Canada and Mexico. These shelter and organizations maintain their own home pages and database listing for all available pets who are ready for adoption and very eager to find there new families.

Their mission is to use Internet technology and the resources it can generate to increase public awareness of the availability of high-quality adoptable pets and increase the overall effectiveness of pet adoption programs across North America to the extent that the euthanasia of adoptable pets is eliminated.

From the comfort of their personal computers, pet lovers can search this website for a pet that best matches their needs. They can then reference a shelter’s Web page and discover what services are offered. Petfinder also includes classified ads, discussion forums, and a library of animal welfare articles.
